These drugs have ridiculous names. So this memory system may only work for me.
- NRTI's - just remember the four pictures: A lamb, a dove, ABBA and Dido.
- NNRTI's - think the first 2 N's look like mountains. Everest and (Ben) Nevis.
- PI's - all end in VIR except ABBAcavir
- FI's - there's only one and it has the letters FU (FUsion) in it. Enfuvirtide.

for protease inhibitor, the mnemonic I use is SRI LANFA, instead of SRI LANKA
Saquinavir
Ritonavir
Indinavir
Lopinavir
Amprenavir
Nelfinavir
Fosamprenavir
Atazanavir
Thank you soo much for sharing your mnemonics!! ;)
Just pointing out that Abacavir is not a PI, it is a NRTI.
And all the integrase inhibitors end up in VIR too, but they actually end up in "tegravir": raltegravir, elvitegravir, dolutegravir
Best way to remember PIs is that they all end in "navir". You could memorize by linking it to the film "Life of PI" where Pi "Navi"gates.
Doesn't take into account Tenofovir (NRTI) and Emtricitabine (NRTI) which currently makes up one of the most popular HIV meds right now (Atripla).
Asshole - Amprenavir (APV)
Attraction - Atazanavir (ATV)
Is - Indinavir (IDV)
Really - Ritonavir (RTV)
Stupid - Saquinavir (SQV)
Dont - Darunavir (DRV)
Forget - Fosamprenavir (FPV)
To - Tipranavir (TPV)
Leave - Lopinavir (LPV)
Now - Nelfinavir (NFV)
